SS-31 (elamipretide) is an aromatic-cationic tetrapeptide studied for interactions with cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The selected literature examines mitochondrial bioenergetics, cytochrome c peroxidase activity and recovery following renal ischemia in preclinical models. These research findings are not batch-test results and do not establish therapeutic effects for this product.
Elamipretide has also undergone human clinical investigation. The FDA approved the separate prescription formulation Forzinity for a specific Barth syndrome indication in 2025. That approval does not apply to this Elixser research-use-only vial. This product is not for human or veterinary use.
